Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"
'It is written' is referring to Deuteronomy 8:3, the Israelites were relying on God to feed them manna (bread) in the desert. We all have to rely on God for food as well as spiritual nourishment. The verse is Jesus' answer to Satan's tempting to turn a rock into bread. He easily could have done what Satan challenged but he knew doing that would be against his fathers will.
The main thing I get from this verse is that the source of the food we eat is much more important than the food itself and as bread gives us life on earth, God's word gives us eternal life.

Summer commitment to the LORD
Last week I decided to commit a summer of scripture memorization to the LORD:
LORD, this summer I will memorize at least one piece of scripture every week. I pray that you remind me to say each verse everyday for 100 days. And that I understand them, meditate on them and live off of them. I ask that the word becomes flesh to me and that they dwell in my heart. I pray these things in the name of Jesus my Lord, Amen.
I got a list of 100 verses that are supposed to cover what the Bible basically says at www.mentoring-desciples.org. They're catigorized into different groups and so I think I'll post my thoughts on them under these groups. Please pray for me and join me in my journey of memorization this summer.

Intaglios in Blythe, California
We went to Mexico a few days ago and on our way back we stopped in Blythe, Californai to look at Intaglios. Intaglios are pictures in the ground. Old Indians scraped away rocks to show the darker color of rocks under the first layer. This leaves a little imprint of the picture in the ground. If you didn't get to see the pictures taken from the air then it would be very hard to tell what the pictures where of.
The picture above and below is the Intaglio that I like the best.
The 3 pictures below are of the same Intaglio, It was very cold out when we were there. In the picture below I was standing like that to look like the Intaglio.
